Copyright & Licensing Policy

1. Platform Intellectual Property

All proprietary website designs, software source code, ranking compilation algorithms, graphics, and original editorial essays published on Dalal Ranking are protected under copyright and intellectual property laws. Reproduction, redistribution, or scraping without written consent is prohibited.

2. Image Licensing & Sourcing Standards (Section 29)

Dalal Ranking upholds strict standards for photographic and multimedia content:

• No "Found on Google" Justification: A photograph of a public figure is not public domain simply because it appears on search engines or social media. We do not accept "found online" as a legal copyright basis.
• Official Press Kits & Creative Commons: Visual assets are obtained from authorized media kits, public relations distributions, Creative Commons repositories with proper attribution, or licensed stock services.
• Fair Dealing: Where copyrighted excerpts or screenshots are incorporated into news reporting or media analysis, they are utilized strictly under the fair dealing provisions of Section 52 of the Indian Copyright Act, 1957 (fair dealing for the purpose of criticism, review, or reporting of current events).

3. Copyright Complaint Process (Section 30)

If you are a copyright owner or an authorized agent and believe that content hosted on Dalal Ranking infringes your copyrighted work, you may submit a formal takedown notice containing:

• Claimant Information: Your full name, organization (if applicable), and verified contact email address.
• Copyrighted Work: Identification and description of the original copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed.
• Infringing Material Location: The specific URL(s) on Dalal Ranking where the allegedly infringing material is located.
• Basis of Ownership: Proof of copyright ownership, registration certificate, or authorization letter.
• Requested Remedy: Specification of whether you request attribution, modification, or removal.
• Good Faith Statement: A declaration that the information provided in the notice is accurate and made in good faith.

Formal copyright notices should be emailed directly to our designated copyright agent at copyright@dalalranking.com or submitted through our Legal Complaints Portal.

4. Review & Takedown Protocol

Upon receipt of a substantiated copyright notice, our editorial and legal team will review the claim, verify ownership, and if warranted, remove or disable access to the infringing material within statutory timeframes.
